Mary Juanita Morris of Commerce died Friday, Feb. 13 at High Call Nursing Center in Quapaw. She was 92.

Mrs. Morris was born October 4, 1917 in Collin County, Texas to David Rufus and Nellie (Roy) Kerby. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Sherman ODale Poynter and her second husband Herbert Morris; son Gerald Allen Poytner, a grandson Paul Boyd, a great grandson Josiah Hamleton, and five brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two sons; William Odale Poynter of Miami and Herbert Kim Morris of Bluejacket, and two daughters; JoAnn Owens of Monkey Island and Patricia June Johnson of Miami. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Commerce. Rev. Larry Moore will officiate. Pallbearers will be Steve Boyd, Randy Gleaves, Troy Gleaves, Rex Boyd, Jason Morris, Odie Poynter, Tim Poynter, Jerry Poynter, II, Sean Poynter, Kevin Poynter, David Boutot, and Joshua Hamelton. Internment will be in Chelsea Cemetery in Chelsea. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
