John David Hiebert passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at his home in Miami. He was 33.
He was born July 26, 1975, in Miami, Okla., to David F. and Sherry (Marquiss) Hiebert Jr., both of Miami. John graduated from Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in 1994 and from the University of Alabama in 1999 with a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration.
He worked at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., as a computer systems analyst from 2000 to 2005 at which time he started his own business, Professional Technology Consulting. He was a certified Microsoft and Novell engineer and administrator.
John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Miami.
He is survived by his parents, David and Sherry Hiebert of Miami; his brother, Dr. Greg Hiebert and his wife Nickey of Miami; two nieces, Winnie and Gabbie Hiebert; one aunt, Kem Weatherby; two uncles, Chuck Craig and wife Ellen and Mike Craig and wife Jackie; many first cousins, a large extended family and countless friends.
John was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David F. Hiebert Sr. and Lucretia (Crow) Ramsey.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Miami, Okla. The Rev. Dr. Helen Hutchison will officiate. Burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Doug Nutting, Rick Nutting, Clayton Shumaker, James Payton, Marline Turley, Mike Weatherby, Dusty Bekemeier and Todd Hessee.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
Memorials are suggested to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation in care of the funeral home.
