Virginia G. Bopp of Miami died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Eastwood Manor Nursing Home in Commerce after an illness. She was 90.
Mrs. Bopp was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., to William and Ruth (McMahan) Geer.
She graduated from East Denver High School and from Denver University and was a member of Alpha-Gamma Delta Sorority. She retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 20 years of secretarial work.
Mrs. Bopp had lived in Pittsburgh, Penn., from 1939 to 1979 and then she moved to Palm harbor, Fla., and lived there until 1997. From there, she moved to Miami.
She married John M. Bopp Jr. on July 18, 1939. He preceded her in death in July of 1999. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Brant.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Mac McDowell of Miami, and Joan and John Miller of Pittsburgh, Penn.; three grandsons, Michael McDowell of Oklahoma City, D. Brett McDowell and his wife Julianna of Seattle, Wash., and Chris McDowell and his wife, Christina of Miami, and four great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held Dec. 21, 2007, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. The Rev. John Methail officiated. Services were conducted under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
