Beatrice Opal (Bradshaw) Frayser passed from this life peacefully on Feb. 24, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1917, to Maude (Bench) Bradshaw and Melvin Bradshaw in Corkery, Mo. Beatrice was 91 years old. She attended school and graduated from Welch, Okla. She was encouraged to continue her education at Kirksville Mo., where she studied and became an ostepathic physician.
Dr. Bea Bradshaw as her patients called her, returned and practiced at Welch, Okla., at the Bradshaw Hospital.
She married Robert (Boskey) Frayser on March 13, 1943, in Shreveport, La. They moved to Texas and lived till 1972 moving back to Vinita and Craig County where she has lived the last 37 years. She was an environmental and social activist that took great pleasure in reading many books.
Beatrice is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Jim and Friend Earl Hatley of Vinita; two sons, Clark Frayser and Friend Retha Browning of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Tim Frayser and wife Donna of Broken Arrow, Okla. She had seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on Feb. 25, 1999; and also her parents; four sisters Goldia Kinnett, Sylvia Bradshaw, Jewel Maling and Lorraine Harriman, and one brother David Bradshaw.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Burckhalter Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Vinita, Okla. A family visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
