Ellen Pauline Hunnicutt Neel of Miami passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at her home. She was 85 years of age.
She was born Dec. 5, 1921, to Leroy and Lily (Pruitt) Golden in McKee, Okla. She had lived in the Miami area most of her life.
She was a restaurant owner and operator for many years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Miami.
She was married to James Herman Thomasson, W.A. “Spike” Hunnicutt and Lonnie Neel and all have preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Denny Hunnicutt; one daughter, Dorothy Jean Thomasson; two brothers, Ellis Golden and Cecil Golden; one grandson, Teddy E. Macy Jr., and one half brother.
Survivors include four daughters, Norma Macy of Miami, Okla., JoAnn Amey of Miami, Okla., Sharon Frazier and husband, Phil, of Tulsa, Okla., and Becki Burleson and husband, Greg, of Wyandotte, Okla.; two sons, James Thomasson and wife, Marsha, of Disney, Okla., and Stephen Thomasson and wife, Terri, of Bartlesville, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Linda McAuliff, Jim Cox, Terry Cox, Tim Cox, Ron Phillips, Ashley Bishop, Stephanie Thomasson and Steve Thomasson Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren, three half sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Liberty Baptist Church in Miami and the Rev. Carol Holden will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jim Cox, Terry Cox, Tim Cox, Ron Phillips, Steve Thomasson Jr. and Chris Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Macy, Dustin Macy, Tyler Burleson and D.J. Burleson. Burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Liberty Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
