Robin Elizabeth Seaferd 56, of Columbus, Kan., died Thursday Nov. 29, 2007, at her home following a brief illness.
Robin was born Jan. 4, 1951, in Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Edwin and Betty (Cole) Seaferd. She moved to Columbus, Kan., in 1997 from Ada. She graduated from high school in 1969 from Cheyenne East High School in Cheyenne, Wyo.
On Feb. 14, 1971, she married Jerry Yerby in Englewood, Calif.; they later divorced. In January of 1981, she married Kenneth Deatherage in Ada; they later divorced.
Robin was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed serving as a Pink Lady at the Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, making Christmas cards, Nascar, and will be most remembered as a wonderful cook and loving mom.
Survivors include her father; son Billy Yerby and wife Dana of Pittsburg, Kan.; daughters, Amy Linebarger and husband John of Allen, Kimberly Tyler of Pittsburg and Jamie Hemphill and husband Mark of Columbus; brothers, Gary Seaferd and wife Sue of Suffield, Conn., and David Seaferd and wife Dawn of Columbus; sister, Susan December of Columbus; grandchildren, Raelynn, and J.W. Luke, Jarrode Wood, Brooklynn Yerby, Mackenzie and J.P. Linebarger, Jordan Abernathy, Abbey and Toby Tyler and Emma Hemphill, and one great-grandchild Jaden Luke.
She was preceded in death by her mother, brother-in-law Manual Deatherage, sister-in-law Beulah Deatherage, brother-in-law Roy Laxton, and sister-in-law Amanda (Sis) Laxton.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec, 6, 2007, at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus with the Rev. Jim Lewis officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Lightening Ridge Cemetery in Roff.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 5, 2007, at the funeral home; friends may call after 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Life Christian Center Food Bank or to help with funeral expenses.
