Robert W. “Robin” Wiford Jr. of Miami died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at his home following a short illness. He was 66.

Mr. Wiford was born April 1, 1941, in Welch to Wanda Mae and Robert W. Wiford Sr. He attended schools in Wyandotte. He first moved to Miami in 1946 and returned to Miami two years ago.

He worked as a demolition expert for Dykon Blasting Inc. of Tulsa for several years. Upon retiring, he moved to his farm outside of Lost City near Tahlequah. He was a member of the Indian Baptist Church at Hulbert.

He married Winnie L. Hurst on Dec. 27, 1960, in Miami. She survives, of the home.

Addition survivors include two sons, Mike of Miami and Jim of Tulsa; one brother, Bill Wiford and his wife Lisa of Mannford; one sister, Linda Kemple and her husband Charles of Miami, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Wiford III; his mother and his father.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ottawa Indian Cemetery with the Rev. Geoff Buffalo officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami.
