Lorene F. Parsons of Columbus, Kan., died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at St. John's Maude Norton Memorial Hospital in Columbus after an illness.
She was 80.
Mrs. Parsons was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Douthat to Melvin and Nancy Susanna (Reeves) Burnsworth. She moved to Columbus 1958.
She was employed at local restaurants and King Louis, retiring from Ace Electric in Columbus. She was a member of Highway Tabernacle Church in Cardin and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 1372 in Columbus.
She married Thomas Dolbow on Nov. 12, 1943, in her parent's home in Douthat. He preceded her in death.
She married Herbert Parsons in 1975 in Cardin. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas E. Dolbow; her parents and one sister, Ruby Mae Dickerson.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Mike and Tricia Parson of Columbus; two daughters, Jerry Stevens of Montgomery, Ala., and Suzanne Rathke and her husband Lester of Liberal, Kan.; one brother, James Burnsworth of Oklahoma City; one sister, Dorothy Emerson of Corvallis, Ore., 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle in Cardin. The Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Grizzle, Chad Armstrong, Rick Martin, Mike Kyle, Herb Parsons IV and Scott East.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher.
Memorials are suggested to the Highway Tabernacle Church building fund in care of the funeral home.
