Leslie Clay Campbell passed away February 5th, 2009, in Grove General Hospital, Grove, Oklahoma.
He was born Oct. 5, 1917, to Charlie and Carrie (Parker) Campbell. He married Lois Nellie Gray in Beaver, Oklahoma, on May 16, 1941. In December of that same year, they purchased a home and land northeast of Elmwood where they raised three sons.
Les was a farmer and rancher, raising registered Hereford cattle for over 50 years. He also worked at the Beaver Livestock Auction for 35 years.
After Lois’ death, he moved to Beaver in July 1998 where he resided until ill health. He has been a resident of the Family Care Center of Fairland, Oklahoma, since May 2008.
Les and Lois listened to the gospel in 1946 and sought to walk in the way with Jesus until their deaths.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois, one brother, William (Bill) Campbell and wife Gail, one sister, Ruby and husband Clarence Voth, all of Beaver County.
Those left to mourn are three sons and wives, Carl and Bonita of Perryton, Texas, Calvin and Patsy of Anadarko, Oklahoma, and Max and Loretta Campbell of Fairland, Oklahoma., eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 9 at Clark Funeral Home in Beaver, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Capital View Cemetery near Elmwood, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Craig, Curtis, Del, Regan, Shanon and Andy. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Carla and Kara.
