Fay Frances Thiesing of Miami died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at her home following a long illness. She was 68.

Mrs. Thiesing was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Shreveport, La. to Lester O. and Hettie (Goolsby) Florence. She moved to Pittsburg, Texas, as a young child and attended school there. She graduated from Little Cypress High School in Orange, Texas, with the class of 1957. She moved to Miami in 1976 from Ardmore.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Miami. She sewed many costumes for numerous stage productions.

She married John D. Thiesing Jr. on Aug. 26, 1959, in Houston, Texas. He survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include, one daughter and her husband, Jenna Fay and Scott Vaughn of Tulsa, and two grandsons, Conner Vaughn and Cory Vaughn, both of Tulsa

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Buck Florence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Miami. The Rev. Leon Weece will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

Pallbearers will be Scott Vaughn, Jim Highley, Jamie Highley, Eddie Wyant, Chip Hammons and Raymond Zimmerman.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation in care of the funeral home.
