Darrel J. Landers of Wyandotte died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. He was 73.
Mr. Landers was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Miami to Gary J. and Ina (Hopkins) Landers. He was a lifelong resident of the Wyandotte area.
He worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami for 33 years. He was a member of the United Rubberworker's Union. He was a member of Eastside Assembly of God Church in Miami.
He married Delores I. Passley on Aug. 2, 1952, in Wyandotte. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Gary J. and Teena Landers of Jenks; one daughter and her husband, Deborah A. and Mick Bowman of Wagoner; one brother, Tom Landers of Marshfield, Mo.; two sisters, Wanda King of Boulder, Colo., and Evelyn Thulin of Bakersfield, Calif.; three grandsons, Dustin Garman, Jason Garman and Greg Evans, and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Eastside Assembly of God Church in Miami with the Rev. Gary Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Wyandotte Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Garman, Greg Evans, Dustin Garman, Don Enyart, Donnie Harner and Hubert Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Pryor.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
