Ethan Clark Myers of Vinita died Thursday, April 30, 2009, in an automobile accident on Monkey Island. He was 19.
He was born Aug. 4, 1989, in Vinita to Matthew Clark Myers and Dawnie Dianna (Keith) Mahurin. He graduated from Vinita Public Schools and was currently in his second year at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami.
He was an Eagle Scout (2005) and served as a scouting chief Order of the Arrow and chief of the Washita Lodge. In high school he played football, was a member of the 2007 state runner-up power lifting team, the Craig County 4-H and was a member of the 4-H Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his parents, Matthew Myers of Vinita and Dawnie Mahurin and husband Randy of Fairland; one brother, Matthew Simmons of Wyandotte; one sister, Carley Mahurin of Fairland; his grandparents, Lyman and Erlita Myers of Vinita, Donald Keith and wife Georgette of Kansas City and Bob and Opal Mahurin of Fairland, and his great-grandmother, Mildred Keith of Kansas City.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cowboy Junction. Pastor Bill Beard will officiate.
Arrangements are by the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
