Mary Carolyn Tanner of Miami died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center after a long illness. She was 64.

Mrs. Tanner was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Exeter, Mo., to Bill and Rosie (Harrison) Searl. She moved to the Miami area with her family while still a young child. She attended Commerce High School.

She was a homemaker and was raised in the Assembly of God faith.

She married Marvin Cantwell and they divorced. She later married Charles Tanner and they also divorced.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Cantwell and Korey Cantwell, both of Miami; one daughter, Kendra Tanner of Miami; seven grandchildren, Brett Cantwell, Casey Cantwell, Jeff Cantwell, Brady Cantwell, Karissa Cantwell, Nicole Mangold and Tyler Mangold, all of Miami; one brother, John Searl of Cardin, and one sister, Martha Stewart of Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene Searl and Howard Searl; two sisters, Lovetta Fratrick and Barbara Rusher, and one grandchild, Colby Cantwell.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami with the Rev. Bob Barker officiating. Burial be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

Pallbearers will be Nash Flores, Jim Bush, Kevin Duderstant, Chuck Searl, Darrell Harrison and Gayle Harrison.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
