Gary ďMickĒ Pace of Joplin, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at St. Johnís Regional Medical Center in Joplin after an illness. He was 60.

Mr. Pace was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Miami to Charles and Evelyn Maxine (Perry) Pace. He lived in Carthage, Mo., for 30 years before moving to Joplin.

He was a self-employed real estate agent and a member of St. Paulís United Methodist Church in Joplin.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Michael and Jennifer Pace of Joplin; his mother, of Joplin; one brother, Jack Pace of Joplin; three sisters, Sherri Frazier of Joplin, Terri Evans of Cottondale, Ala., and Karen Sue Metts of Bella Vista, Ark., and two granddaughters, Breanna Pace and Rachel Pace of Joplin.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paulís United Methodist Church in Joplin. The Rev. Aaron Brown will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, northwest of Treece, Kan.

Pallbearers will be Todd McCoy, Dustin Borland, Randy Dubry, Kris Garrett, Kavin Thomas and Bill Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at St. Paulís Methodist Church in Joplin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher.

Ophelia Mary Williams

Ophelia Mary Williams of Afton died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Miami Nursing Center. She was 99.

Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 20, 1909, in Hall County, Ga., to Charles Samuel and Judith (Miller) Woody. She was a longtime resident of Afton.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Afton.

She married Waldo Herman Williams on Jan. 14, 1931. He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Virgil Williams, and her parents.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, James and Sharon Williams, Paul and Rosalee Williams and Anthony and Loretta Williams; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Afton. The Rev Ted Wynn will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Chuck Price. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton.

Pallbearers will be Terry Williams, Jebb Williams, Tracey Williams, Steven Williams, Darin Montgomery, James Doughitt, Gary Culver and David Speer. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Harrison and Kenny Bohannan.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Afton Community Center.
