Jack D. Lankford of Moore died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, after a sudden illness. He was 60.

Mr. Lankford was born June 4, 1947, in Strang.

He was a Vietnam War veteran of the Navy.

He worked at a grocery warehouse in Oklahoma City for 32 years before retiring five years ago. He served as marshall at the Moore Golf and Athletic Club.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Barbara Lankford; two daughters and their husbands, Tanya and Jason Ball and Christina and Steve Hyden of Moore; his parents, C.P. and Juanita Whiteley of Miami; two sisters and their husbands, Vickie and Jack West of Georgia and Teressa and Rex Chaney of Arizona; one brother, Don Whiteley of Miami, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, J.D. Lankford, and one sister, Wendy of Arkansas.

Services were Wednesday at Crossroads Cathedral in Oklahoma City. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in Norman.
