David Lee Dillingham of Afton died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami. He was 74.
Mr. Dillingham was born April 28, 1934, in Oklahoma City. He moved to Afton in 1937, coming from Enid. He was a graduate of Afton High School with the class of 1953.
He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 30 years of employment. He was also a farmer and truck driver. He was a charter member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Afton and served as music director for 23 years.
He married Hazel Tipton on Aug. 21, 1955, at Afton. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons and their wives, David and Linda Dillingham Jr. of Elgin and Darryl and Laura Dillingham of Owasso; seven grandchildren, Brett Dillingham, Chris Dillingham, Derek Dillingham, Lindsey Kirkpatrick, LeAnn Rodrick, Jacob Dillingham and Tyler Dillingham, and three great-grandchildren, Gage Dillingham, Damen Dillingham and Laney Dillingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Meada Faye (Taggart) Dillingham.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Afton. The Rev. Terry Bunch and the Rev. David Holland will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton.
Pallbearers will be Brett Dillingham, Chris Dillingham, Derek Dillingham, Ty Kirkpatrick, Justin Rodrick and Eddie Tipton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Trinity Southern Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity SBC Family Life Center or Mount Hope Perpetual Care Fund, in care of the funeral home.
