Jimmy L. Robinson of Grove died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St. John's Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was 69.
Mr. Robinson was born Aug. 8, 1938, in Hockerville to John and Dorothy Robinson.
He worked as a welder for Ornamental Iron and also as a self-employed welder. He played the rhythm guitar and the bass guitar.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rita Robinson of Grove; two sons, Jerry Truelove and wife Terri of Houston, Texas, and Jimmy Robinson Jr. of Grove; five daughters and their husbands, Cindy Maute of Commerce, Darla Sajulga and Kim and Wayne James, all of Miami, Tawnya and Marvin Frost of Joplin, Mo., and Michelle Robinson of Pittsburg, Kan.; one brother, David Robinson of Alabama; five sisters, Clara Mae Brown of Columbus, Kan., Linda McCeland of Henryetta, and Joan Ekstrom, Sue Smith and Mary Carpenter, all of California, 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Johnny Robinson.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Aug. 8, at the New Life Family Worship Center in Grove.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel.
