Ronald Ray McMillan of Wyandotte died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, St. John's Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was 70.

Mr. McMillan was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Bushnell, S.D., to Allen Roy McMillan and Mabel Alice (Hendrickson) McMillan.

He married Patricia Schiffbauer on June 16, 1957. She survives, of the home.

Mr. McMillan graduated from Carthage High School. He attended Ozark Bible College and Lincoln Christian College. He was a church minister for 50 years.

He also worked as a sports official and as a funeral pre-arrangement counselor for many years. He had served as chaplain for the police and fire departments in Frankfort, Ky.

Additional survivors include a son, Timothy McMillan of Clinton; two daughters, Kimberly Camp of Joplin and Beverly McMillan of Carl Junction, Mo.; two brothers, Merwyn McMillan of Joplin and Allan McMillan of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Lorraine Pierce of Rogers, Ark. and four grandchildren.

Services will be 8 p.m. Monday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Blendville Christian Church in Joplin.
