Opal W. Moberly of Hesston, Kan., died Friday, May 8, 2009, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was 97.

Mrs. Moberly was born May 30, 1911, in Wichita, Kan., to John Henry and Zillah (Clark) Hale.

She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton, Kan.

She married Faye Moberly on April 2, 1932, in Afton. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Winifred Cooper of Tulsa and Carolyn Sipson of Hesston; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton. Pastor Mike Ronan will officiate. Burial will be in Hesston Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home in Hesston.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church’s quilt ministry or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
