Robert Harrison “Bob” Brigstock Sr. of Welch died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at his home following a long illness. He was 60.
Mr. Brigstock was born Nov. 2, 1947, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Robert E. and Gloria (Town) Brigstock.
He attended schools in Wyoming, Mich. He served in the U. S. Army from July 14, 1967 to April 30, 1971. During his service, he was in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. He had worked for Cotton Hite Motor Company as a front-end specialist. For five years, he owned and operated Miami Wheel Alignment. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Miami.
Mr. Brigstock married Joy Helen Whitson in Jay. They recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. She survives, of the home.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Additionaly survivors include two sons, Bobby Brigstock of Bluejacket and Jon Brigstock of Edmond; four daughters, Roxanne Talsma of Grand Rapids, Dawn Buell of Plainwell, Mich., Sherrie Walters of Sparta, Mich., and Janna Koster of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren, Andrea and Samantha Brigstock, Matthew, Levi and Khloe Brigstock, Nicole and Jamee Talsma and Stephanie, Jennifer and Nathan Buell, Kenda Kelley and A.J. and Korbin Walters; his mother, Gloria Brigstock of Jenison, Mich. one brother, Bradley Brigstock of Hastings, Mich.; five sisters, Vicki Cartwright of Detroit, Mich., Kim Phillips of Ada, Mich., Mary Pant of Shelbyville, Mich., Patti Humphrey of Wyoming, Mich., and Nicole Brigstock of San Francisco.
A Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m., Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Miami with the Rev. Kathy Leithner officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Floyd L. Perry American Legion Post No. 147 Veterans Funeral Detail. Honorary Pallbearers will be L.J. Mills, James Standeford, Don Bullard, Jim Wagner, Wayne Mills and James Loyd.
