Norville Draper of Prescott, Kan., died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Prescott Countryview Nursing Home in Prescott after an illness. He was 77.

Mr. Draper was born Feb. 19, 1932, in Mulhall to Ollie Martin and Velma Pearl (Davidson) Draper. He lived in Prescott since July, 2006, moving from Quapaw.

He was a Korean War veteran of the Army.

He worked as a diesel mechanic in the uranium mines in Wyoming for 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Quapaw.

Survivors include one sister and her husband, Sharon and Deward Mead of Pleasanton, Kan.; one niece, Shelly McDonald, and two nephews, Todd Mead and Chris Mead.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Quapaw. The Rev. Dale Neal will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Quapaw.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
