LulaBelle Blalack of Miami died Monday, May 7, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after a long illness. She was 82.
Blalack was born June 1, 1924, in Seneca, Mo., to John Henry and Dora Ann (Taylor) Collins. She attended Seneca schools.
She worked for the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Seneca.
She married Raymond Blalack on Dec. 12, 1965, in Miami. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacquline Lee Hedley of Oklahoma City and Roberta Lee “Penny” McWethy, east of Miami; one sister, Thelma Cole of Joplin; six grandchildren, Randy Dean Hedley, Ricky Lee Hedley, Rhonda Kay Douglas, Rodney Joe Hedley, Russell Brian Hedley and Mark Edward McWethy, and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church in Seneca with pastor Fred Mills officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home in Welch.
