Richard Lee Shamblin of Afton died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 67.

Mr. Shamblin was born July 22, 1942, in Commerce to Richard and Dollie (Uto) Shamblin. He moved to Afton in 1998, from Bartlesville.

He was a veteran of the Air Force.

He was an iron worker, doing welding on high rise buildings for Austin Industries for 13 years. He was of the Catholic faith.

He was married to Daretha Davis for 34 years. She survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include one son and his wife, Dustin and Karen Shamblin of Florence, Ariz.; three sisters, Joyce Burns of Afton, Dixie Burns of Westminster, Calif., and Janet Reeves of Miami, and one granddaughter, Gracie Marie Little.

The body will be cremated at his request, with no services.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the MS Society, in care of the funeral home.
