Ernestine Vinson Scott of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at her home. She was 86.

Mrs. Scott was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Rogers to Ernest Vinson and Marrietta (McGuire) Vinson. She graduated from Rogers High School and the University of Arkansas.

She worked as a dietician for injured servicemen at Fitzsimmons Hospital in Colorado during World War II. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Rogers. She worked for many years to promote downtown Rogers where she managed Vinson Square and other buildings. She was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

She married Elmo Scott in 1946. He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Leslie Anne Scott, and one sister, Lorene Stephens.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Joe and Marina Scott of Rogers; two daughters and their husbands, Martha and Tim Cox of Rogers and Mary and Robin Still of Miami; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Paula Cox and Shane Cox, all of Rogers, Ryan Cox of Portland, Ore., Kody Still and Brook and Dana Still, all of Miami, Catherine Scott of Houston, Texas, and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Rogers. The Rev. Sandi Wanasek will officiate. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tim Cox, Robin Still, Jeremy Cox, Shane Cox, Ryan Cox and Kody Still.
