Leona Mary Friesen of Miami died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at her home. She was 79.
Mrs. Friesen was born Oct. 9, 1927, in George West, Texas, to Walter and Sallie (Gavlik) Pawlik. She moved to Miami in 1985 from Guymon.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Gospel of Grace Church in Hooker.
She married Elmer D. Friesen on June 18, 1947, in George West. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Linda Skidgel of Perryton, Texas, Beverly and Dareld Mussman of Tulsa and Vickie and Merwin Reimer of Hooker; three sisters, Lillie York of San Antonio, Texas, Dorothy Davis of Miami and Rosemary Newman of Belton, Texas, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Howard-Williams-Turcotte Funeral Home in Falfurrias, Texas. Burial will be in Premont Cemetery, Premont, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Skidgel, Chris Mussman, Keith Reimer, Kyle Reimer, Shad Gamel and Mike Six. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Hale and Mike Sorensen.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Texas.
