Miami resident Joshua William Cox died from injuries suffered in a car accident Sunday morning June 27, in Miami, at the age of 25 years of age. Joshua was born in Miami to his parents Terry and Terri Cox on May 13, 1985.
Joshua graduated from Miami High School in 2004. He was a Wardog baseball player and took care of the baseball and softball fields. Joshua loved riding four wheelers with his son Evan and his dog Duke. He rode any thing with a motor. He also enjoyed cookouts and being outdoors with his family. On Oct. 20, 2007 Joshua took Miss Lydia White as his bride in Miami. They have resided in Miami since. Joshua worked with his dad many years and was employed with Midwest Fertilizer and Chemical as an applicator.
Although Joshua is no longer with us, his memory and legacy will be kept alive through this family and friends he leaves behind which include: his wife of 2 1/2 years: Lydia Cox of the home, two sons: Evan and Ethan Cox of the home, parents: Terri and Terry Cox of Baxter Springs, Kan., one sister: Jamie Cox and fiance Dustin Foster and son Dalton of Miami, paternal grandmother: JoAnn Amey of Miami, maternal grandmother: Jackie Cooper of Miami and maternal grandfather: Owen Kaltenbaugh of Penn., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and longtime friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 30, at 10 a.m. at First Christian Church of Miami with Chaplain Bob Barker officiating. Interment will follow at GAR Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include: Jake Tynon, Galen Williams, Ryan Frettwell, Jaycee Callahan, John (John) Looper, Ryan Kinsey. Honorary Pallbearers: Tyler Vincent, Kain Kaltenbaugh, Chris Newhart, Paul Kittrell, Chance Cox.
The family will receive friends for visitation this evening June 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, in Miami.
