Winona Lillian Land of Miami, Okla., died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Eastwood Manor Nursing Home after an illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Land was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Guthrie, Okla., to Archie James “Jack” and Evelyn (Lane) Blevins. She graduated from Sallisaw High School and moved to Miami in 1988.
She was a homemaker and a member Tree of Life Church in Miami, Okla.
She married D.C. Land on Feb. 14, 1947, in Fayetteville, Ark. He preceded her in death Nov. 12, 2005. Mr. and Mrs. Land ministered and mentored family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Michael A. and Kathy Land Sr. of Nixa, Mo., James K. and Rebecca Land of Miami, Okla., and Ray G. and Deborah Land of Branson, Mo.; two daughters and their husbands, Susanne and David Gabbard of Miami, Okla., and Belinda and Michael Smith of Holt Summer, Mo.; four brothers, James and his wife Nelda Blevins, David Blevins, Paul and his wife Margaret Land and Wayne and his wife Bertha Land; four sisters, Judy and husband Arval Catlett, Nancy Thompson, Brenda and husband Lynn Lehenbauer and Dr. Connie Lane and husband Dr. David McElwain, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Friends Church at 209 I St. NE, Miami, Okla. The Rev. Jim Land will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Interment will be in Buzzard Cemetery in Grove, Okla.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Eastwood Manor Activity Fund.
