Ella May Gobetz, 82 of Pittsburg, Kan., passed away at 1:10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan.
She was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Opolis, Kan., the daughter of Carl Chambers and Maude (Daniels) Lynn.
On Nov. 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Gobetz, he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1994.
Ella was a long time area resident also residing in West Mineral, Kan., for eight years, Tahlequah, Okla., for eight years and Miami, Okla., for eight years before returning to the are in 1967.
She was active in the Via Christi Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) for many years and the West Mineral Eagles Aerie 918.
Survivors include two sons: John E. Gobetz of Pittsburg, Kan., Dr. Robert H. Gobetz and companion, Kimberly Key, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a grandson William Ransom Gobetz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Carl J. Lynn, and a sister, Fern Sixkiller.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, Kan., with Harold Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, until service time and then again following the services.
