Eula Ruth Vaughan of Miami died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at her home after an illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Vaughan was born April 5, 1931, in Vinita to Denzil and Maude Mae (Jones) Gurley. She lived most of her life in the Miami area.
She had worked as a waitress at Midway Restaurant and had worked at Hayworth’s, Burlington’s and Glenn Berry’s. she was a member of Northeast Baptist Church in Miami.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Junior Vaughan; her parents; one brother, B.J. Gurley, and one sister, Jane Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Vaughan and wife Teressa and Gary Vaughan, all of Miami; one daughter and her husband, Audrey and Steve Vaughan-Epps; one sister, Lillie Campbell of Miami; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Northeast Baptist Church in Miami. Pastor Marion Neighbors will officiate. Burial will be in Williams Timberhill Cemetery, east of Welch.
Pallbearers will be Mike Vaughan, Josh Vaughan, Mike Botts, Russell Campbell, Tommy Botts and Jack Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Campbell and Tommy Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
