Velma K. Jimerson of Miami died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at her home after an illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Jimerson was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Benton County, Ark., to Frank and Mable (Dyson) Imbeau. She lived in Miami all of her life.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Dennis Jimerson, on Jan. 3, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Chester and Joella Jimerson; seven daughters and their husbands, Mable and Kadon Smith of Wicks, Ark., Wilma and Sanford Johnson of Miami, Christine and T.W. Gresham of Angleton, Texas, Juanita Fay Waggoner of Lead Hill, Ark., Viola Delphine and Jim Howerton, Lottie Marie Marbee and Hope and Gary Gideon, all of Miami; one brother, Leroy Imbeau of Quapaw; two sisters, Erma Spencer of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Hazel Burnett of Springdale, Ark.; 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. The Rev. Kay Snowden will officiate. Burial will be in Wann Cemetery in Southwest City, Mo.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
