Imogene R. Mills died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at SouthCrest Hospital in Tulsa. She was 84.

Mills was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Welch to Claude and Grace M. (Shaw) Haire. She was valedictorian of Welch High School's graduating class of 1941. She and her husband owned and operated Mills Plumbing and Electric in Welch for many years before retiring. She was a homemaker and a member of the Welch Chamber of Commerce and Welch Baptist Church. She was also involved in the local “Sheriff's Posse.”

She married Floyd Joe “Booge” Mills Jr. on Sept. 20, 1941, in Miami. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1979. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Danny and Donna Mills of Bixby; two brothers, Dale and Bill Haire, both of Vinita; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas Funeral Home in Welch with pastor John Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Welch City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
