Thelma M. Witt, formerly of Miami, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after a brief illness. She was 98.
Mrs. Witt was born Dec. 5, 1908, in White Hall, Ill., to Jacob and Ida (Phillips) Taylor. She moved from Okmulgee to Miami in January, 1988.
She was a licensed practical nurse and worked for Bristow Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Miami, having transferred her membership in 1989.
She was married to Robert Witt. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1982.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eva B. Phillips and Mabel Ann Stacey.
Survivors include one nephew, Carl Stacey of McPherson, Kan.; one niece, Jan Shields of Houston; one stepson, Dale R. Witt, and one stepdaughter, Karel Ann Martin.
She was cremated and her ashes intered in Bristow City Cemetery.
No services are planned.
