Anna “Lorenea” Captain of Miami died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Integris Baptist Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was 89.

Mrs. Captain was born April 8, 1919, in Baxter Springs, Kan., to Fred and Eunice (Enyart) Pliler. She lived in the Baxter and Miami area most of her life.

She was employed by North American Aviation, Bontac Bath in Kansas City and was a long time employee of King Louie in Baxter Springs. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Miami and a member of the Martin Sunday school class.

She married Leo Captain in December 1935. He survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include her sister, Jackie Brewer                     of Miami.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Baxter Springs Cemetery. The Rev Leon Weece will officiate.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
