Thelma Treca Couch of Baxter Springs, Kan., died Friday, June 22, 2007. She was 88.

Mrs. Couch was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Gainesville, Mo.., to Alford and Carrie (Taylor) White. She was united in marriage Dec. 12, 1934 in Hockerville to the late Charles “Mutt” Couch.

Thelma enjoyed housekeeping through the years and was employed by the former Baxter Springs Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years.

Along with her parents and husband, she was was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Mitchell; one son, Leslie Dale Couch; two brothers, Ralph White and Tony White and one sister, Stella Tomlinson.

She is survived by three daughters; Carol Tyler, Karen Thompson and Joyce Rader and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel.

The Rev. Pat Hankins will officiate. Burial will be at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. They are under the direction of Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, Kansas.

Family will receive friends from 1p.m. today until service time.
