William “Bill” Hamilton of Miami, passed away Tuesday June 15, 2010, at Osborne Care and Rehab Center in Miami. He was 91.
Mr. Hamilton was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Cabool, Mo., to Morris and Emma Hamilton. He had lived in Miami since 1939, moving from Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Enterprise during WWII. He had worked at B.F. Goodrich in Miami retiring in 1981. Mr. Hamilton had served as worshipful past master of Commerce Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva L. (Barker) Hamilton on June 3, 2004, a daughter Linda, grandson Mike and his parents.
Survivors include a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barker; five nephews; eight great nephews and five great nieces.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday June 18, at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. Pallbearers will be Matt Barker, Guy Barker, John Paul Barker, Michael Allgood, Ronnie Allgood, Ryan Allgood, Nick Allgood, and Randy Allgood. Memorials are suggested to the Masonic Lodge.
