DeWitt Philip Watters passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Integris Baptist Regional Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 12, 1943, in Joplin, Mo., to DeWitt G. and Ruth (Peacock) Watters. They both preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Dee T. and Minnie Watters and Philip and Frankie (Cotter) Peacock.
He graduated from Miami High School in 1961.
He married Donna Richardson in 1964 and they later divorced.
Dee is survived by his daughter and her husband, Deeann and Ray Hart of Commerce. One grandson, Michael Hart and his wife Teresa and one granddaughter, Heather Hart, all of Commerce. Two brothers and their wives: Jim and Margie Watters of Norman, and Bob and Patsy Watters, Edmond. One Uncle, Phillip (Sonny) Peacock of Miami. One Cousin, Simmy Peacock of Miami. Four great-grandchildren: Austin Ray Hart, Lexi Lynn Martin, Kayleigh Nicole Hart and Gavin Michael Hart, all of Commerce.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Wyandotte Indian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives until the time of services. The body will be at the home of Ray and Deeann Hart, 311 South Quincy, Commerce. Services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami. Online condolences may be made at www.paulthomasfuneralhomes.com.
