Thomas Steve Miller, 55, of Miami died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Miller was born Oct. 10, 1951, in Claremore to Adrian Thomas and Almeda Opal (Stafford) Miller.
He married Rena Joe “Ross” on April 20, 1973, in Miami.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Mr. Miller was a founder and charter member of the Vietnam Veterans Post 277. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a carpenter and a truck driver. Mr. Miller attended the Apostolic Church in Miami.
Survivors include his wife, Rena Joe (Ross) Miller, of the home; one son and his wife, Jared Thomas and Katie Miller of Miami; one daughter, Kamisha Dawn Turner of Miami; one brother, John T. Briggs of Enid; one sister and her husband, Marcia Miller and Ronnie Ross of Miami; five grandchildren, Grant Turner, Caleb Turner, Nathaniel Turner, Nikki Osborn and Ayden Miller, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were Saturday, July 14, at the Apostolic Church in Miami with the Rev. Onos Hood and Pastor Phil Shyers officiating. Interment followed in Williams Timberhill Cemetery under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
The Missouri Juliet Team conducted military rites.
Pallbearers were Bill Porter, John Briggs, Ronnie Coats, Robert Springer, Roy Ross and Danny Riley. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Maple and Chad Ross.
