Boyd Glenn Goodwin, 76, of Miami died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at his residence after an illness.
He was born Feb. 21, 1932, to Herbert Dane and Agnes (Harris) Goodwin in Eakley.
Mr. Goodwin was a member of the Fairland United Methodist Church of Fairland.
He was a retired foreman for Newell Coach for more than 30 years.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of the Signal Company, Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Division. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal and was an expert marksman.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Chosen Few.
Mr. Goodwin is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann (Moore) Goodwin of Miami; two sons and their wives, Richard and Nancy Goodwin of Springfield, Mo., and Randy and Debi Goodwin of Claremore; two brothers, Sherold D. Goodwin of Fairland and Oris Goodwin of Springdale, Ark.; one sister, Caroline Kennedy of Choctaw, and six grandchildren, Isaac, Kelsey, Daniel, Andrea and Monica Goodwin and Heather Fulton-Burrows.
Memorial services will be Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Interment will follow.
Professional services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
