Willis Rantz of Miami died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at his home after a long illness. He was 79.

Mr. Rantz was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Racine, Mo., to George Daniel and Melvinia LeeOatie Rantz. He lived in the area most of his life.

He was a retired truck driver.

He married Sherley Ica Vankirk on Nov. 4, 1950, in Miami. She preceded him in death April 29, 2006. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Macy and Edith Walker, and one brother, Amos Rantz.

Survivors include four daughters, Sherry Ann Rowe of Seneca, Mo., Alice Faye Bohnstedt of Miami and Merrilyn LaRue Terry and Melinda Jo Rantz, both of Neosho, Mo.; one sister, Frances Crosby of Joplin, Mo., 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Seneca Assembly of God Church with pastor Randy Depriest officiating. Burial will be in Gallemore Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Matthew Terry, Ryan Terry, Travis Knoblauch, Kaleb Helvey, Ricky Helvey, Rodney Camren, Paul David Rowe, Sterling Rowe and Timothy Rowe.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca.
