Frank Rowden of Joplin, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at his home. He was 82.
Mr. Rowden was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Piche to Frank and Sarah (Martin) Rowden. He lived in Treece, Kan., most of his life, moving to Joplin in 1991. He graduated from Picher High School in 1943 and attended the University of Oklahoma while stationed nearby with the Navy.
He worked for B.F. Goodrich for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1986.
He married Lois Wommack on July 31, 1943, in Columbus, Kan. She preceded him in death on July 10, 2003.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Stock; his parents, and two brothers, Myrl Rowden and Raymond Rowden.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Emily of Fulton, Ky., Linda Penrod and her husband Don of Pryor and Nancy Parker of Joplin; one sister, Patricia Owen of Temecula, Calif.; eight grandchildren, David Emily, Todd Emily, Erica Emily, Jeff Penrod and wife, Margaret, Kelly Rector and husband, David, Kristi Sullivan and husband, Kevin, Adam Parker, and Alex Parker, and four great-grandchildren, Cory Rector, Cameron Rector, Jacob Sullivan and Zachary Sullivan.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary.
