Elmer LeRoy Davis of Commerce died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after an illness. He was 66.
Mr. Davis was born June 7, 1942, in Miami to Rex Elmer and Lillie Mae (Fink) Davis. He lived in Picher most of his life.
He was a veteran of the Navy.
He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and American Legion Post No. 147 of Miami.
He was married to Juanita Rammage. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and his wife, Mike and Tammy Davis of Baxter springs, Kan.; one daughter and her husband, Michelle and Kraig Stevens of Scammon, Kan.; one sister and her husband, Barbara and Mike Davis of Coffeyville, Kan.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Blanch Rickman Dobson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher.
