Calvin Everett Bryant, a former area resident entered into rest Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Tulsa, Okla. of a heart attack.  He was 87 years old.

Calvin was born March 19, 1930 in Centralia, Okla.  He served our country 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War.  Calvin worked many years on ranches starting at six years old where he lived & was raised by Harold & Kay Christian a couple of years after his dad's death from pneumonia.  After the Navy Calvin worked at Convair Aircraft until returning to Bluejacket, Okla.  There he worked at Eastern State Hospital in Heat & Air at Vinita, Okla.  He also owned & tended to a number of rental properties in the surrounding area.  Calvin spent most of his life operating his own cattle ranch in Bluejacket, Okla.

Calvin spent the last year of his life with his daughter & son in law who cared for him during his health decline.  It was here that Calvin gave his heart to the Lord.  He was unable to attend church any more due to 98% hearing loss but he prayed & read his Bible everyday.

Calvin was preceded in death by Calvin Arthur Bryant - Father, Mary Trilby (Everett) Bryant - Mother, Wanda (Bryant) Rice - sister, Willard (Red) Bryant - brother & Annabelle (Bryant) Cowerdin (sister).

He is survived by Wilma (Bryant) Miller - sister, Opal (Beall) Bryant - wife of 65 years of Tulsa, Okla., daughter & son in law - Vivian & John Weeks of Tulsa, Okla., son - Calvin Curtis Bryant of Miami, Okla. & one grandson - John Michael Weeks of Broken Arrow, Okla.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (June 17th) at the Bluejacket, Cemetery. Military Honors will be conduct by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
