Former Miami, Oklahoma resident, Dorothy Lorrain Peck, 89, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 5, 2017, after a long illness. She was born June 20, 1927 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma to Ralph and Viola (Wilson) Jonsson. She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School. After graduating, she attended Business College, where she received her business certification.

On February 7, 1948, she married the love of her life, James Walter ‘Dub’ Peck in Miami. Dorothy began her employment at Security Bank and Trust in Miami as a loan supervisor. She also worked for Miami Sales as well as Home Furniture Annex. After her and Dub retired, they both drove cars for Enterprise.

Dorothy was an avid homemaker. She enjoyed the Rodeo, traveling in the RV with family, and attending 4-H events with her daughter, Sharon. In 1975, she was awarded the Ottawa County 4-H Mother of the year award. Dorothy was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Miami, where she impacted so many lives with her kind and generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Dub, on November 20, 2007, one sister, Naomi Schubert; two brother’s-in-law, Lloyd Schubert and Dan Robinson. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Kay Peck of Tulsa; one sister, Lavern Robinson of Miami; one niece, Carolyn Minson and husband, Ronnie of East of Miami; several cousins, and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the First Christian Church, Miami. Dr. Brian Brubaker will officiate, assisted by Danny Garner. Serving as casket bearers will be Danny Garner, Dave Ritchie, Chuck Beaver, Bob Thompson, Ken Brodrick, and Terry Kruse.

Interment at Seneca Cemetery, Seneca, Missouri.
