Noma Newman, 98, Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away January 20, 2017. She was born April 26, 1918 to Howard S. and Minnie Walker Rodecape in Grove, Oklahoma.

She attended NEO College in Miami and married George E. Newman on April 23, 1937. She worked for the Miami Credit Bureau until starting her family. Noma later worked 10 years for the Miami Savings and Loan Association, after which she was active in the early years of the Miami Masonic Association, Republican Women’s Association, and President of P.E.O. Chapter and the Miami Ladies Golf Association. Noma moved to Arizona in 2000 and was a member of the Scottsdale United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 25, 1994, grandson Brian Newman on July 15, 1989, and by her sister Ruth Ann Adamson and three brothers – Owen, Odes, and Clyde Rodecape.

Noma is survived by daughters Carolyn ‘Susie’ Crabtree of Monkey Island, Oklahoma, Connie Marshall of Paradise Valley, Arizona, and sons George E. Newman II and wife Diane of Cave Creek, Arizona, and William J. Newman of Grand Lake, Oklahoma, seven grand children and 13 great-grandchildren.
