Larry Edmond Seward was born in Miami, Oklahoma, January 28, 1946.  He died December 15th after suffering a stroke on Dec 8th.

Seward graduated Miami High School in 1964 at which time he joined the Navy.  Of his four year Navy service, three and a half years were spent out to sea among 89 different countries, including Antarctica in the weather balloon program.  May 1973, he earned a bachelor’s degree from OU in accounting, and in 1979 earned his Juris Doctorate from TU.  He worked as an in-house lawyer, first for Cities Service in Tulsa and then Grace Petroleum in Oklahoma City until 1985.  Since his goal was to run his own law practice, he left corporate law employment and began a staff attorney internship for Dodd & Helm Law Firm in Enid in February 1985.

He met his wife Vicki at the Oklahoma City Civic Center in March, 1984.  They married July 13, 1985, in Enid and moved to the Tulsa area November, 1986, where they established their home, and he began his private law practice.  He actively practiced law until his death. 

Survivors are wife Vicki of the home.  Cousins Patricia Edmondson of Columbus, Kans., Martha Wehba of Michigan, and Jack Booth of Michigan.  Sisters-in-law Mary Seward of Miami, Patti Reidhead of Gallup, N.M., and Amy Turner of Medford, Okla.  Brothers-in-law Bruce Eldred of Fairview, OK and Keith Dowers of Beggs, OK.  Nine nieces and nephews, one great niece and two great nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Ilah Seward and brother Jim.

In 1976 Larry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses and remained a faithful servant of Jehovah for forty years.

Visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday followed by funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500.
