Ottawa County Internet Crimes Against Children task force has arrested an alleged child predator.
Brandon Coleman, 24, of Tulsa was arrested in Miami, where he arranged to meet with a person he believed to be under the age 16.
The arrest came after a three-month investigation in which Coleman made several lewd proposals via the internet to someone he believed was a Miami teenager. The recipient of the indecent proposals was actually Ottawa County Undersheriff Bob Ernst.
Authorities say that Coleman made arrangements to meet with the teen Friday with the intention of providing the juvenile with marijuana and engaging in sexual activity.
“When Deputies made contact with Coleman a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol was located inside Coleman’s waistband,” said Ottawa County Sheriff Terry Durborow.
Durborow said his office seized a “Buddy Scooter,” that Coleman drove to Miami, a cell phone, a laptop computer, a small amount of marijuana and the pistol.
Coleman was jailed on numerous anticipated charges. Bond was set at $250,000.
