The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met last week to appoint an acting executive director of the chamber until a new director is hired.

“We are excited to announce the interim director will be Jennifer Hessee effective until further notice,” incoming president Chris Floyd wrote in a release to the membership.

Hessee will serve voluntarily in order to continue continuity of the chamber’s business activity, according to Floyd.

“The board of directors is greatly appreciative of this acceptance by Jennifer, who has served as the president of the board for last year,” Floyd said. “It makes her the ideal candidate to serve in this interim position.”

Hessee’s term expires Dec. 31.

Hessee will continue to be employed by Integris Baptist Regional Health Center as the director of marketing and foundation.

Floyd said the board of directors is aggressively working to fill this position and find the best candidate is hired.

“We currently have some wonderful prospects and will be looking to complete the process in the next few weeks,” Floyd said.
