The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors have announced the appointment of Michele Bolton as the Chamber’s interim executive director.

“Michele is currently the finance/office manager for the Chamber, and is more than capable of fulfilling the additional duties as the executive director, “says Jeff Hale, Chamber board chairman. “We appreciate her willingness to step into the position on such short notice.”

Bolton is a Miami native. She graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Missouri Southern State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She worked in the accounting field for 13 years prior to spending the last nine years at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in marketing and other departments. She has been at the Chamber since November 2011.

“I enjoy my job at the Chamber and am excited about the opportunity to assume the duties of interim director, “says Bolton. “We are currently working on several important projects including: the Living Local campaign, Leadership Miami and the Miami NOW event, so business will continue as usual.”

The Chamber will open the hiring process this fall and expects to have a permanent director in place by Dec. 1.
