A woman and her grandson were killed Sunday morning when their ATV rolled and landed on them in Deleware County, officials reported.

Tonya Cochran, 49, and her grandson, 4-year-old Wesley Cochran, Jr., were pronounced dead at the scene near Grove on County Road 252 at about 9 a.m., according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Tonya Cochran lives in Grove, and her grandson lives in Gladstone, MO., according to the report.

Troopers reported Tonya Cochran was driving a 1999 Polaris 500 ATV westbound when it ran off the road and lost control causing the vehicle to roll.

Both riders were ejected about eight feet landing on steps to a house, where the four-wheeler then landed on them, according to the report. Neither was wearing helmets.

Both were taken to Worley Funeral Home.
