Miami's legal advisor submitted his resignation Monday, effective the final day of 2007.

Erik Johnson, who has served the City of Miami for seven years, told council members that he has enjoyed his time as city attorney and will take many fond memories with him as he steps away from the part-time position to devote his attention to his private practice and his family.

Johnson joined the City of Miami in 2000 and is currently partnered in the law firm of Johnson and Romero housed at 2 N. Main in Miami.

Johnson said he will assist in transitioning a replacement in an effort to help the city through the staffing change.
